St Mary’s Heritage Centre Gateshead Wedding | Pam & Tommy

If you’re looking for inspo for a hybrid rural-city wedding, this one is a great place to start! Pam and Tommy chose to split their day between a Tyne Valley village church ceremony and the bustling Newcastle-Gateshead Quayside for the reception. Bridal prep took place at Pam’s family home in Wylam, before joining family and friends for the ceremony at St Oswin’s Church, two minutes down the road, keeping the start of the day really personal and close to home.

After the church ceremony, everybody made their way into the city centre to continue the celebrations at St Mary’s Heritage Centre on the Gateshead side of the river. St Mary’s is a brilliant consideration if you want the best bits of an urban wedding while also keeping some of those rural vibes and impressive architecture. The grade 1 listed former church is uniquely positioned right next to the Sage, overlooking the Tyne and Newcastle skyline. Pam and Tommy were treated to a glorious golden hour as the sun set through the arches of the Tyne Bridge, while their guests enjoyed drinks on the terrace (essentially a private quayside beer garden!) and the kids explored the building’s green spaces and the bright lights of the dance floor.
